Works Programmes 2020/21 – February 2021 update

The Boards have continued maintenance works during COVID and the incredibly wet year we have incurred.

Working in a covid safe environment has been a key priority and has included revised methods and policies, as well as delivery by in house resources and contractors.

The wet weather has significantly affected our flailing works, however using catchment knowledge and working in partnership with landowners we have continued using tracked machinery throughout the winter months completing clearance and de-silting works.

From March, we begin to assess vegetation, hedges and trees for signs of nesting birds and stop works that might disturb them. Our hand works season begins in spring where we hope for a significant improvement in the weather.
